Focus and Scope

Journal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR) offers an interdisciplinary forum for basic or applied medical and health sciences research, evidence-based and scientifically written articles; including, original articles, review articles, case reports and selected editorials. Our content focuses on, but not limited to these areas of medicine and health science;

Peer Review Process

After submission, manuscripts are first reviewed by a journal manager and an editor-in-chief. All manuscripts are screened using the ‘Turnitin’ (please see the details of plagiarism on the Publication Ethicts page). Manuscripts with incorrect formatting or unacceptable language or style will be returned to authors for correction before transmission to the Editor-in-Chief.  JHSMR used the double-blinded process for reviewer selections.  JHSMR will list at least 3 potential reviewers, including name and contact information. The careful selection of relevant experts as reviewers will facilitate and speed up the review process. JHSMR do not list reviewers from within our institution, and, especially for international authors, avoid only local reviewers.  Acceptable manuscripts will be examined by the editor-in-chief and either accepted without review, rejected without review, or assigned to a section editor.

Copyright on any article of JHSMR is retained by JHSMR. JHSMR provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Early Publication Policy

To facilitate the rapid dissemination of research, the Journal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR) may publish accepted manuscripts in early formats prior to the final publication. These pre-publication formats are categorized into two stages:
1. Early Version — Uncorrected: This version has undergone peer review, editorial acceptance, final editorial and technical checks, and language editing, but has not yet been typeset or proofread by the authors. The content and formatting may therefore be subject to change during typesetting and proof review.
2. Corrected Proof: This is a subsequent version that has completed the full production process, including final typesetting and author proof review, but has not yet been assigned to a specific journal volume and issue.
Both early formats will be clearly identified and should not be regarded as the final Version of Record. Once the manuscript is published in a final issue, the Version of Record will automatically replace these early versions on the article webpage while retaining the same DOI and article URL. Readers are encouraged to refer to and cite the Version of Record once it becomes available.

Authorship Policy

JHSMR follows the authorship criteria of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and relevant publication ethics requirements and guidance of the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI). All authors must meet the ICMJE criteria, with individual contributions reported using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy).

The first author must be the first and only author in that position. A maximum of two corresponding authors is permitted, provided they are affiliated with different institutions and/or countries.

Authorship Changes Before Acceptance

Requests to add, remove, reorder, or otherwise change authorship after submission and before acceptance must be submitted using the JHSMR Authorship Change Request Form, with justification and written consent from all authors, including those being added or removed. All requests are subject to editorial approval and do not guarantee approval.

Authorship After Acceptance

Following formal acceptance, authorship is considered final. No addition, removal, reordering, or other authorship change will be permitted.

Authorship After Publication

Following publication, authorship and the published article are considered final and will not be directly modified or replaced. Any concerns involving publication ethics or research integrity will be handled in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics procedures and applicable ethical guidelines.

Authorship Disputes

JHSMR will not adjudicate authorship disputes and may refer unresolved matters to the relevant institution(s) for investigation and resolution.
